Mónica Hernández
Artista plástica mexicana, nace en 1974. Le interesan los formatos dispares, las técnicas mixtas y la reutilización y/o el reciclaje de materiales. Trabaja distintas series en contemporáneo, por ahora son: la serie de Las Tazas, los Retratos y la serie de Desnudos sobre mapas, en formato bidimensional; y escultura/instalación elaborada con ropa. Su obra se soporta en el dibujo y juega con el collage y la pintura creando un sello muy personal. La obra de Mónica es melancólica... tiene que ver con el tiempo, la impermanencia de la vida, la construcción de la memoria.... Mónica ha expuesto individual y colectivamente en distintos países; en México, Brasil, Italia, y en E.U.A. Ha sido seleccionada en algunas bienales locales y extranjeras.
Mexican artist, born in 1974. Mónica inclines herself to choosing different and risky formats and mixed medias, interested in reutilizing & recycling materials. She works different series at the same time, at this period, there are: The Cups, The Nudes and the Portraits in bidimensional format; and in sculpure/installation elaborated with clothes. Monica's work uses drawing as the vertebral column of her work, mixed with collage and painting creating a very personal stamp. Her work is melancholic... it has to do with time and the construction of memory, the impermanence of life.... Mónica has shown her work in different countries, collective shows and individual, in México, Brasil, Italy and USA. Her work has been selected to participate in several biennals.
